| insulin | Hormone secreted by the pancreas in response to high blood glucose levels that aids in the storage of blood glucose to be used for energy in the future. |
| steroid | A term describing certain sex hormones and hormones produced by the adrenal glands. Steroids can be natural or synthetic and are used to treat a wide variety of conditions. |
| goiter | The abnormal development of the thyroid gland resulting in an enlargement in the frontal part of the neck. |
