Afferent & Efferent Aff-means signal is traveling toward a particle center. Eff- moving away from center or point reference
What does a Sensor do? Identify condition or characteristic being controlled, respond to any change that may occur from normal set point
Negative feedback loop They produce an action that is opposite to the change that activated the system
Feed Forward Feed-forward is the concept that information may flow ahead to an-other process to trigger a change in anticipation of an event that will follow
Virus Intracellular parasites that consist of a DNA or RNA core surrounded by a protein coat and sometimes a lipoprotein envelope. They are particles that invade human cells and cause them to produce viral components.
Prions (proteinaceous infectious particles) are proteins that may cause misfolding of protein molecules, thus converting normal proteins of the cell into different proteins
Autopoiesis One could say that living organisms are self-organizing or self-maintaining and nonliving structures are not. This concept is called autopoiesis, which literally means “self-making.”
