Over-the-counter medications

Analgesic: Medication used to treat pain.
Antifungal: Medication used to prevent the growth of fungus.
Antihistamine: Medication that inhibits histamine (a natural agent in the body that causes allergic-type reactions, including itches and flushing).
Antipyretic: Medication class used to prevent or relieve a cough.
Antitussive: Medication class used to prevent or relieve a cough.
Antiviral: Medication used against viruses.
Corticosteroid: Medication class used to reduce inflammation, especially during asthma or COPD exaxcerbations
Counterirritant: Medication class used to treat pain by causing a burning sensation on the skin to relieve deeper pain.
Decongestant: Medication used to relieve nasal congestion.
Expectorant: Medication class used to reduce mucus production.
Pediculicide: Medication, often in the form of, that kills lice.
