| Barnum Affect | Vague statements made, stock descriptions of personality |
| Gordon Allport | Not interested in why someone is that way but how to measure such |
| Factor Analysis | small statistically correlated, clusters of related behaviors |
| Unconsiousness | reservior for most unacceptable thoughts |
| Hypnosis | unlock unconsciousness , freud abandoned this |
| Free Association | person relaxes and says whatever comes to their mind |
| Freudian Slip | saying something "you dont mean" was just your unconscious manifesting itself |
| Id | bad guy, not self control, born with it and basically says "just do it" |
| Superego | moral compass, age 4-5, "good guy" |
| Ego | reality principle, meets in the middle, compromise between Id and Superego |
| Oedipus Theory | boys want their mothers and cannot have them so they find women like their mothers |
| Eletra Theory | girls want their father but can not have them |
| Repression | push desires that cause anxiety out of consciousness |
| Denial | refusing to believe reality |
| Displacement | directs unwanted desires toward things (materialistic) |
| Projection | projecting ones feeling toward another |
| Reaction Formation | acting the opposite as you feel |
| Regression | returning to an earlier habit from when you were a child |
| Rationalization | making up a justification of something we know is wrong |
| Sublimation | channeling good frustration toward different goals |
| Transference | likely to happen, feeling og the patients goes to the psychologists |
| Dream Analysis | manifest content is the story that translates to the latent content or the underlying meaning |
| Criticism of Freud | could not verify, not predictive powers and only studied wealth women (SEXIST) |

| fundamental attribution | judging others, underestimating the impact of the situation |
| individualistic | prioritizing ones needs over anothers |
| collectivistic | prioritizing the group over others |
