6 Clopidogrel antiplatelet
7 Cyclophosphamide lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemia, neuroblastoma, ovarian and breast cancer. Mechanism involves crosslinking tumour DNA.
8 Cyclosporin potent immune suppressant, after transplants. Also Rx psoriasis, RA
9 Dobutamine beta 1 agonist, ionotropic, short term treatment cardiac decompensation, eg in heart surgery
10 Etanercept TNF inhibitor. Rx autoimmune eg Ank spon, RA, psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis.
11 Fentanyl opioid analgesic, esp post op.
12 Filgrastim G-CSF, incr neutrophils. Used with chemo (esp leukemias), and in patients getting marrow transplants.
13 Fludrocortisone replace aldosterone in addisons.
14 Fluconazole fungal. Triazole
15 Gabapentin antiepileptic and post-herpetic neuralgia
16 Halothane inhalation GA, induction and maintenance.
17 Lignocaine LA block Na
18 Loratidine antihistamine for runny eyes etc, allergies
19 Mesalazine aminosalicilic. Antinflam. Crohns, UC.
20 Methylphenidate CNS stimulant. ADD, narcolepsy.
21 Nitrous oxide anaesthetic, maintenance, also childbirth, ED, pre-hospital care. Entonox 50% O2.
22 Ritanovir protease inhibitor HIV, possibly also spelt ritonavir
23 Suxamethonium aka succinylcholine. Paralytic, used before intubation. Simulates acetylcholine on muscle type nicotinic receptors, but broken down much slower.
24 tamoxifen competitive antagonist to oestrogen, used in ER+ breast cancer
25 thiopentone rapid onset short acting barbiturate anaesthetic. Increases inhibitory activity of GABAa receptor (as all barbit., benzodiaz. and alcohol)
26 tramodol agonist mu opioid rec. 5-HT release, NA reuptake inhib. Pain killer, also restless leg syndrome.
27 tubocurarine long-duration antagonist ACh neuromusc. Nicotinic rec. Paralysis voluntary musc. Including diaphragm. Rocuronium is safer
28 vancomycin glycopeptides Abx, gram +, Abx of last resort with resistant strains.
29 zidovudine INN/azidothymidine (AZT). Analogue of thymidine. Class of nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI), used in conjunction with other antivirals in HIV/AIDS
