8 Diazepam short term anxiety (up to 6 wks). Sedation. IV status epilepticus. Binds GABA rec. incr chance opens. Allosterically incr. GABA mediated inhib.
9 Diclofenac (voltarenTM) NSAID. COX inhib. Mech see aspirin. Antipyretic. Decr PGE2 synthesis in hypothalamus to decr. Temp.
10 Digoxin Congestive HF. Control ventricular rate in AF. Cardiogenic shock. +ionotropic (F), -chronotropic (decr HR). Slow SA node conduction. Prolong refractory period bundle His. Extra Ca2+ available contraction.
11 Diltiazem Antiarrhyth (class IV). HPN. Angina (incl vasospasm). Ca2+ chan blocker. Decr Ca2+, slow AV conduction -> decr HR. Relax smooth musc -> decr periph resistance.
12 Enalapril HPN. Renal HPN. HF. ACE inhib.
13 Enoxaparin LMWH. Higher anti Xa to antithrombin activity ratio than heparin. Surgery. Rx DVT/PE
14 Erythromycin macrolide Abx. Broad spectrum. Gram +. Inhib bact prot synth.
15 Ethanol alcohol.
16 Fluticasone steroid, Cream skin, spray asthma preventer
17 Frusemide loop diuretic, inhib Na/K 2Cl transporter
18 Gentamicin aminoglycoside oto and renal toxicity
19 Gliclazide sulphonylurea. Stim insul release pancr.
20 GTN NO released from endoth. -> SM, vasodilates angina
