Transverse Wave

Parts of a Wave

Crest The highest point of a wave
Amplitude The amount of energy a wave carries
Loudness How loud or quiet a sound is to us.
Wavelength The distance between two crests
Frequency The number of crests in a given measure
Pitch How high or low a sound is to us
Resting Point When there is no disturbances, the flat line of a transverse wave, where the crest is measured from
Decibles The unit amplitude is measured in.
Hertz The unit frequency is measured in.
