| appendix | a small finger-shaped tube that branches off the first part of the large intestine |
| balance sheet | a financial statement that reports a company's assets, liabilities, and shareholder equity at a specific point in time |
| barrier to (market) entry | technology challenges, government regulations, patents, start-up costs, or education and licensing requirements. |
| bottom line | the final result or the most important consideration of a situation, activity, or discussion: |
| business model | a company's plan for making a profit |
| business plan | a document setting out a business's future objectives and strategies for achieving them. |
| business structure | a category of organization that is legally recognized in a given jurisdiction and characterized by the legal definition of that particular category. |
| capital investment | the expenditure of money to fund a company's long-term growth |
| capital structure | the specific mix of debt and equity that a company uses to finance its operations and growth |
| cash flow | the net cash and cash equivalents transferred in and out of a company |
