QuestionAnswer
Axis an imaginary line that passes from the North Pole, through the Earth’s center, to the South Pole
Rotation the spinning of the Earth on its axis
Revolution the movement of one object around another
Orbit an objects path around another object
Solstice in each hemisphere, there is one day per year when the sun appears highest in the sky. (Occurs in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres)
Equinox – halfway between the solstices, neither hemisphere is tilted toward the sun. (means equal night)
Gravity force that attracts all objects toward each other
Law of Universal Gravitation states that every object in the universe attracts every other object
Inertia the tendency of an object to resist change in motion
Hypothesize to make an educated guess of what will happen
