TermDefinition
Map A flat 2 dimentional drawing of land and water
Globe A spherical scale model f the earth
Latitude Geographic coordinate that specifies the north or south of the equator
Longitude Measures distance east or west of the prime meridian they run north to south pole, but they measure the distance east or west.
Hemisphere A half of the earth usually divided into northern and southern by the equator or into western and eastern.
Weather The state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, wind, sunshine, and precipitation.
Climate The average weather conditions in an area over a long period .
Cirrus White wispy cloud that form at high altitudes and are made of ice crystals.
Cumulus Fair weather clouds with puffy tops and flat bottoms
Stratus Lowest clouds that cover the sky like a thick grey blanket
Nimbus/Nimbo precipitating cloud such as nimbostratus or cumulonimbus clouds.
