Compound Sentence Sentence contains two independent clauses joined by a comma and a coordinating conjunction FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) OR by a semicolon (;) EX: Squirrels are cute, but they can be aggressive.
Complex Sentence Sentence contains one or more dependent clauses joined to an independent clause EX: If that squirrel attacks me, I’m going to be upset.
Compound Complex Sentence Sentence contains one or more dependent clauses joined to a compound sentence EX:: If that squirrel attacks me, I’m going to be upset and I’m going to call the authorities.
