Unit Vocab for Potential/Kinetic Energy

| Gravitational Potential Energy | The energy stored in an object as the result of its vertical position or heigh |
| Transform | Changing from one form to another |
| Law of Conservation of Energy | The total amount of energy in the universe remains constant but may change forms |
| Energy Transformation | The conversion of one form of energy into another |
| Kilocalorie (kcal) | The energy it takes to raise the temp of 1 kg of water by 1 degree Celsius |
| Chemical Energy | Energy stored in the bonds of chemical compounds; may be released during a chemical reaction |
| Kinetic Energy | The mechanical energy that an object has because of its motion |
| Mechanical Energy | The total sum of all kinetic and potential energy |
