Patient interaction

QuestionAnswer
Adherence: Patient following medication regimens.
Adverse Effects: Negative side effect of medications.
Clinical Pharmacy: The use of literature-evaluation skills, and evidence-based medicine to recommend therapy for a patient.
Confidentiality: Ensuring that patient information is given only to people who are authorized to view the information.
Ethics: Moral principles governing an individual or group.
Informed Consent: Consent to medical treatment by a patient (or to participation in a medical experiment by a subject after achieving an understanding of what is involved and especially of the risks.)
Nonverbal Communication: Communicating to another individual through the use of one's body by using posture, facial gestures, proximity to others, and the environment.
Patient Feedback: Obtaining information from the patient by asking-open ended questions.
Protected Health Information (PHI): Personal, identifiable information about a patient that is created or received by a health plan , provider, or health care clearinghouse.
Proxemics: The distance between the pharmacy technician and the patient while communicating.
Self-Care: Taking care of oneself through the use of monitoring, diagnosing, and screening techniques that permit one make informed decisions about one's own care.
