Flashcards for Habit 4
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Think Win-Win | Think Win-Win is the fourth habit that involves balancing courage with consideration and making deposits in other's emotional bank account. |
| Balance courage and consideration | I can build effective relationships with people by working for their benefit as well as my own. |
| Win-Lose | Being high on courage and low on consideration. You can't win unless others lose. |
| Lose-Win | Being low on courage and high on consideration. You have a victim mentality. |
| Lose-Lose | If you can't win, nobody wins. You put yourself and others down. |
| Win-Win or No Deal | You're ready to walk away before someone loses. To feel great, balance consideration and courage. |
| Courage and consideration matrix | A matrix determining your situation based on courage and consideration. |
| Make deposits in other's emotional bank accounts | I can make deposits of kindness and helpfulness into other's emotional bank accounts. When I do this, making friends and building strong relationships becomes easier. |
| Find out what a deposit is for another person | Find what is considerate and helpful towards other's, not yourself. |
| Do small acts of kindness | Treating others with kindness and humbling yourself can be a second way to emotionally deposit in someone's bank account. |
| Keep promises | Never break a serious promise and understand that your words hold value. |
| Keep confidence | Stay aware of what you share about other's personal lives. |
| Be loyal to the absent | Avoid all gossip. |
| Set clear expectations | Follow through what was expected and don't stir confusion. |
| Apologize | Admit to your own mistakes and that you're in the wrong. |
| Forgive | Forgive and forget. |
