Bactericidal Antibiotics Bactericidal antibiotics directly kill an infecting organism. Examples include penicillin, amoxicillin and cephalexin.
Bacteriostatic Antibiotics Bacteriostatic antibiotics inhibit the production of bacteria by interfering with their metabolic process, and the bacteria are then eliminated by the person‚ immune defense system. Example include tetracycline, erythromycin, E-Mysin, Biaxin and Zithro
