| Peripheral Nervous system | Consists of sensory and motor neurons |
| Sensory | Afferent nerve fibers, carry info from sense organs to CNS |
| Motor | Efferent, carry directives from CNS to rest of body |
| Somatic | Intentional movement of skeletal muscles |
| Parasympathetic | calming, Rest and digest ( Decelerates heartbeat, Lowers blood pressure, Stimulates digestion) |
| Sympathetic | Arousing, Flight/Flight/ Freeze (accelerating heart rate, raise blood pressure, slow digestion) |
| Endocrine system | "slow" chemical communication (HOrmones move through the bloodstream) |
| Pituitary gland | Master gland (Human growth hormone) |
| Adrenal gland | release epinephrine and norepinephrine energize the body |
| Pancreas | Releases insulin, regulates blood sugar |
| Thyroid | Regulates metabolism |
| Parathyroid | Regulates calcium |
| Ovaries and testes | Sex hormones |
