Medulla -Connects brain to spinal cord -Regulates breathing and heart rate
Thalamus -All senses pass through here except smell -Routes info from senses to higher brain control centers
Reticular Formation -Located inside the pons Responsible for: Filtering incoming stimuli and relays important info to other brain areas.
Cerebellum "little brain" -enables nonverbal learning and memory -Other functions:Helps us judge time, modulate our emotions, and discriminate sounds and textures Voluntary movement
Amygdala -Bean sized linked to aggression and fear
