TermDefinition
Latitude The east-west parallel lines in a grid. Measure distance north and south of the equator
Longitude The north - south meridian lines in a grid. Measure east and west of the prim meridian.
Equator An imaginary line encircling the Earth equally
prime Meridian Imaginary line that passes through the north and south poles. It shows 0 degrees longitude.
continents 7 great land masses of the world. Asia, Antartica, Afrfica, Europe, Australia, North America and South America.
cartography the science of creating maps
geography the study of Earth's physical and cultural features
landform the natural features of the Earth's surface
environment all the living and the nonliving things that affect life in an area
