Acute Cardiac Rehab

Inpatient is what phase of cardiac rehab? phase I
outpatient(exercise training) is what phase of cardiac rehab? phase II
outpatient (maintenance) is what phase of cardiac rehab? phase III
What are the goals of phase I? general mobility & ADL's, MET level 1-3, MONITOR VITALS
When would you want to "dangle" the pt? first 12-24 hours after extubation
When might you be able to initiate bed to chair T/F? within the first 24-48 hours
When would you start in room mobility? usu 48 hours after extubation
systolic BP > or = ____, diastolic BP > or = to ____ are contraindications to mobility. 200mmHg, 110mmHg
When does phase II start? usu 1-4 weeks post d/c from hospital
How long do pt usu participate in phase II? 3 x week for 3 months
Does the pt need a physicians referral for phase II? yes
What are the stop criteria for exercise testing at the beginning of phase II? 120 bpm or 20 beats above resting HR
What is the goal of phase III? maintenance for reintegration to safe community and home exercise
