| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| vector | A quantity that has both direction and magnitude |
| initial point | The starting point of a vector |
| terminal point | ending point of a vector |
| translation | a transformation along a vector such that the segment joining a point and its image has the same length as the vector and is parallel to the vector |
| perpendicular lines | lines that intersct at right angles |
| perpendicular bisectors | a line perpendicular to the segment at the segments midpoint |
| Reflection | reflection across line L maps point P to its image |
| Rotation | A transformation around point P |
| angle of rotation | The angle measure |
| center of rotation | point around which a figure is rotated |
| symmetry | In the transformation of a figure such that the image coincides with the preimage the image and the preimage have symmetry |
| Line of symmetry | Each of the lines of a reflection |
| rotational symmetry | A rotation maps the figure onto itself |
| angle of rotational symmetry | greater than 0 but less than or equal to 180 |
