Scientific Method Steps

Ask a Question first step; the question has to be tested.
Make a Hypothesis second step; make an educated guess
Conduct an Experiment third step; takes planning and tests the hypothesis
Collect Data fourth step; take notes, make a chart or graph your results
Draw a Conclusion fifth step; give you an answer to your question
Share Your Results sixth step; discuss your findings with others.
variable The part of an experiment that either changes or is controlled.
independent variable the part of the experiment that the scientist changes
dependent variable the part of the experiment that changes based on data.
