Concise To describe something in a clear manner
Nuance A subtle difference to a particular idea or statement
Function To describe the purpose or role of something or someone
Negation The act or process of denying
Coherence A logical connection.
Archetype a character, symbol, story pattern, or other element that is common to human experience across culture.
Pacing The amount of time a writer gives to describing each event.
Mood The overall emotional quality of a work, which is created by the author's language and tone.
Point of view The perspective from which a story is told.
Epic A long narrative poem about the deeds of heroes or gods.
Mnemonic Devices Are techniques a person can use to help them remember something.
Tone A writer's or speaker's attitude toward a subject.
Diction A writer's or speaker's choice of words.
Denotation The exact, literal meaning of a word.
Connotation The suggested or implied meaning or emotion associates with a word beyond its literal meaning.
Allegory A story in which the characters, objects, or actions have a meaning beyond the surface of the story.
