Here are our library specific vocabulary words to prepare you for Library Jeopar

TermDefinition
Genre The type of story.
Fiction Books that entertain us. Made-up stories
Non-Fiction Books with facts and information
Call Number This is on the spine of the book and is the books address.
Return To give the book back to the library
Renew Keep your book for another week
Overdue When you did not return your book on time.
Dewey Decimal System How non-fiction books are organized
Biography A book about a person
Circulation Desk Where you check out your books
Caldecott Award This award is for the pictures in a book
Newbery Award This award is for the writing in a book
Graphic Novel A book that looks like a comic inside with a lot of pictures and speech bubbles
Research To gather information
Genrefied How our fiction section is organized
