Computer Apps in Drug-Use Control

Mouse Devices that enables user to move a pointer; better way to move graphics and windows, allowing faster processing
Touch Screen Monitor with sensitive surface so your finger is the pointer
Scanner Converts printed matter onto the computer
Modem Device that transfers info from one computer to another using phone lines and servers
Printer Produces paper copies
Software Programs which are a set of instructions; each has a different purpose
Automated touch-tone response system Telephone refill orders
Data Raw facts the computer can manipulate. Includes letters, numbers, sounds, images
Users The people who use the computers
PDA Hand-held device; can be used anywhere
Breach of confidentiality a disclosure to a third party without the patient's consent or court approval of the disclosure.
