Testing effect repeated practice
Deep processing understanding a meaning behind something (word/concept)
shallow processing memorizing word/sequence
Semantic memories facts/general knowledge
episodic memories experience events
Priming occurs as exposure to stimuli or information makes associating or remember that information easier later
mood congruent memories recalled more easily when we are in the same emotional state we were at the time of the recalled event
Anterograde amnesia someone unable to form new memories
Retrograde amnesia inability to remember information from one's past.
