QuestionAnswer
How are anxiety disorders different from ordinary fears or worries? Anxiety disorders are persistent, interfering with one's life while worries or fears are typically related to a specific stimulus and go away.
What are some symptoms of anxiety? Restlessness, trouble sleeping, loss of focus, headaches, stomach pain, muscle aches among others.
What are might led to PTSD? Traumatic events such as abuse, serious accidents, loss of a loved one, or war.
How can alcohol react with depression? It can increase these feelings or be used to comfort someone as a form of self medicating.
How rare is schizophrenia? 1/100 people are diagnosed.
What causes schizophrenia? There is no one event or factor that leads to this disorder but there have been correlations made to the flu during prenatal development and genetic components. What is known is that many people with schizophrenia have notable brain abnormalities.
What factors are thought to contribute to dissociative disorders? Disasters, accidents, physical or sexual abuse, and death of a loved one.
What are causes of neurodevelopmental disorders? Genetic predispositions, prenatal difficulties, and brain abnormalities.
