What is the difference of the Sunni and the Shiite? Sunni believe that the male heirs of the first 4 elected caliphs Shiite believe or recognize only the descendants of only the 4th caliph - Ali
What is the sacred text of Islam understood as what? It is understood as offering guidance for the world
What is the other way that the sacred text is understood by ? a clear sign for those who can understand
How does the sacred test begin? It begins with a short prayer
What is the short prayer called? Fatiha
What is the sacred text of Islam organized into? It is organized into 114 chapters
What are the chapters called? It is called Surahs
What is the text written in? Arabic
What is it recited in ? Arabic
What do the Meccan suras or Medinan suras, depends on wether the verses revealed before or after what? it depends on the migration of Muhammad to the city of Medina.
What is the purpose of Recitation or revelation? It is suppose to show what God plans to reveal to humanity
