alliteration the repetition of the same letter or sound at the beginning of words
synecdoche when a part is used to represent the whole, or a whole is used to represent the part
anaphora the repetition of a word or phrase at the beginning of clauses
allusion a brief reference to a person, place, thing, or idea of historical, literary, cultural, or political significance
