| Denial | Refusing to believe that something has happened |
| Rationalization | An excuse for doing something but not realizing that the excuse is the real reason |
| Displaced aggression | Someone is agitated and unable to direct there emotions to the real reason |
| Scapegoating | Projecting responsibility and blame on others |
| Identification | Associating someone close with other, identifying someone, negative |
| Perception | Taking in and processing information through your senses |
