Inflammatory lesion or tumor within Salivary gland or associated duct 4. Benign gland obstruction 5. Diagnosis needed - CT & MR imaging
Contrast used? Water-soluble Iodinated contrast media
Route contrast media is administered? Injected into the duct in question through a small catheter after the duct has been localized
Articles necessary when performing a Sialogram (10): Sialogram Tray → Dilator Probe → Goose Neck Lamp → Magnifying Headset → 6-10 CC Syringe → Emesis Basin → Paper tape → Tongue Depressor → Sterile Gloves → Lemons
How to prepare Sialogram Tray and Radiographic Equipment when performing a Sialogram? Place Sialogram Tray on side table → Have additonal supplies available as needed (linens, emesis basin, kleenex) → 10x12 IRs available outside fluoro room for Overheads per Radiologist request
