What is true about a legionary ? He was a Roman citizen
When could a legionary enlist? He had to be at least 17 years of age to enlist
When could a legionary retire? He could retire after 25 years of service
What or who is an auxiliary An auxiliary is a person who isn't a roman citizen has a lower rank than the legionary
What did both the auxiliaries and the legionaries had to do for the army? Both had to carry all their own items/weapons plus goods for the army.
How many miles did the auxiliaries and the legionaries walk per day? They had to march up to 20 miles per day.
What did the auxiliaries and the legionaries when not on the move? When they were not on the move, they had to build their own fort.
What did the auxiliaries and the legionaries when do other besides fighting in battle? It was not uncommon for soliders to build roads or other structures.
What was punishments like for both the auxiliaries and the legionaries? Punishment for disobedience or neglect of duty could be harsh.
What did the auxiliaries and the legionaries when not marching? When not marching, they trained or worked daily.
