Term | Definition |

Transduction | The conversion from sensory stimulus energy to action potential when cells relay messages in the form of action potential to the brain/central nervous system |
Absolute Threshold | The minimum amount of stimulus energy that must be present for the stimulus to be detected 50% of the time |
Subliminal Message | A stimuli that we receive but are consciously unaware of |
Difference Threshold | Perceiving a noticeable change in stimuli (like light to dark) |
Weber's Law | Bigger Stimuli require bigger changes to be noticed |
Perception | The way that sensory info is organized, interpreted, and experienced consciously |
Sensory Adaptation | Occurs when we don't perceive stimuli because it has remained constant over prolonged periods of time |
Inattentional Blindless | A failure to notice something that is completely visible because you were immersed in something else |
