sensation

sensation the process that occurs when special neuron receptor sites in the sense organs are activated, allowing various forms of outside stimuli to become neural signals in the brain
transduction the process of converting outside stimuli, such as light, into neural activity
absolute threshold weakest amount of a stimulus that we can sense
difference the minimum amount of difference that can be detected between stimuli
perception process through which we interpret what we sense
