sensation
| Term | Definition |

| sensation | the process that occurs when special neuron receptor sites in the sense organs are activated, allowing various forms of outside stimuli to become neural signals in the brain |
| transduction | the process of converting outside stimuli, such as light, into neural activity |
| absolute threshold | weakest amount of a stimulus that we can sense |
| difference | the minimum amount of difference that can be detected between stimuli |
| perception | process through which we interpret what we sense |
