Physical Property any chracteristics of a material, such as a state, color and volume, that can be oberved or measured without changing or attemptingto change the material.
Matter anthing that has mass and takes up space and is made up of different kinds of atoms; includes all things that can be seen, tasted, smelled or touched but does not include heat, sound or light.
Physical change change in which the properties of a substance change but the identity of the substance always remains the same.
Density measurable physical property that can be found by dividing the mass of a object by it's volume
State of Matter physical property that is dependent on botu tempurature and pressure and occurs in 4 forms- liquid, solid, gas and plasma.
melting point tempurature in which a solid becomes a liquid
boiling point tempurature at which a substance in liquid state becomes a gas.
chemical property any chracteristics, such as the ability to burn, that allows a substance to undergo a change that results in a new substance.
chemical change change in which the identity of a substance changes due to its chemical properties and forms a new substance or substances.
law of conservation of mass states that the mass of the products of a chemical change is always the same as the mass of what you started with.
freezing point tempurature at which liquids turn to soilds.
