Solid has a definite shape and definite volume
Liquid no definite shape and has a definite volume
Gas no definite shape and no definite volume

Colloid a mixture in which the particles are mixed but not dissolved
Solution a mixture in which a solid and a liquid or two liquids are mixed so evenly that it is not possible to see the separate particles
