| glazed | covered or coated with a substance; may appear shiny or wet |
| characteristics | traits; some examples might be size, shape, color, or texture |
| infer | to make connections or draw conclusions by using clues from the author and your schema |
| setting | where a story or event takes place |
| characters | a person, animal, being, creature, or thing in a story; who or what the story is about |
