QuestionAnswer
Criteria A standard that must be met for success
Constraint Something that limits (gets in the way) an experiment or situation
Energy Transfer When energy moves from one thing to another
Exothermic Reaction A chemical reaction that produces heat
Endothermic Reaction A chemical reaction that requires heat to take place
Chemical Reaction When a new chemical forms. You can tell because it looks very different from the original substances and cannot be undone. ā—‹ It takes energy to break bonds. ā—‹ It takes energy to create new bonds.
Reactant A substance that takes part in and is changed by a chemical reaction
Product A substance made in a chemical reaction
Problem A thing or situation that is difficult to deal with or understand
Solution A way of solving a problem or dealing with a difficult situation
Trade-Offs Trading in some good things to remove some bad things, knowing there is no perfect solution.
Optimum/Optimal The best conditions that are possible.
