What does the Legislative Branch do? They make laws
What is the Executive Branch? Article 2. President, Vice President, Cabinet (advisors to the president).

What is the Judicial Branch? Article 3. Supreme and Federal Courts
What does the Judicial Branch do? Interprets/Review the laws.

What was James Maddison's role at the Convention? He contributed to the approval of the constitution (Federalist Essays!!)

What was Edmond Randolph's role at the Convention? Presented the Virginia plan (the 3 branches)
What happens if the president vetoes a law and congress wants to override the veto The Veto can be overwritten only when two thirds vote in both the senate and the House of Reps.
What Constitutional principle distributes power between the national and state government. Federalism
What is popular sovereignty? A government in which the people rule.
What is republicanism? People voting for their political representatives.
What is limited government? Example :D a government that obeys the law, just like everyone else (can't bypass or twist the law). Example: US government
Explain the separation of powers Division of basic government roles into branches (power is split between the branches. No one branch is given all of the power)
What is the purpose of checks and balances. Provide example. Make sure no one branch would be able to control too much power (separation of powers). Example: The congress can make laws, but the president can veto the laws.
What in the Constitution displays Individual Rights? The Bill of Rights.
What is a Federalist? believed in strong central, national government created under the new constitution.
What is a Anti-federalist? Fearful of the strong central government in new constitution (no Bill of Rights)
