Word Processing format the document to increase readability and appearance, print a copy of the document, and save the document for future use or reference
Default Font & Font Size original font and font size
Single Spacing a amount of the white space (spacing) in between lines
Double Spacing a amount of the white space (spacing) in between lines
Make a Copy Make an exact duplicate of a Google Doc. It will say “Copy of….” in front of the copied document.
Download Can convert your Google Doc into a compatible Microsoft Word document and Portable Document Format (PDF). A PDF cannot be edited or changed.
Version History Allows you to access previous edits and changes made to doc.
Move Move your document to a new location (folder) in your Drive.

Cut Removes the selection to be pasted somewhere else on the document
Copy Duplicated the selection to be pasted somewhere else on the document.
Paste Add the content that has been cut or copied onto your document
Paste Without Formatting Add content that was cut or copied to your document and remove all formatting.

Increase Font Makes the size of the font larger
Print & Print Preview Make your doc a paper copy by clicking the print command.
Rename Give your document a new name. To do this, click the name in the top left corner and type.

Font Color Changes the color of the text
Capitalization change the selected text between different types of capitalization
Highlight Colors the area or line highlighted
Superscript text above baseline

Checklist keep track of items, tasks, or steps that need to be completed
Share Give others access to edit, comment, or view your Google Doc
Viewer Allows a person to view the document but not edit or comment
Commenter Adds a comment from the reader of the document
Editor Able to make changes on a shared document.
Left Alignment Aligns text to the left margin
Center Alignment Aligns text to the center margin
Justified Alignment Makes everyline the same width
Right Alignment Aligns text to the right magin
Shading fills text boxes.
Borders puts a line around text and images
Find & Replace Find a word or phrase in your document and replace it with another word or phrase
Select All Select all content in the document
Table A table is a grid of rows and columns that organizes complex information so that it is easy to find and understand.
Rows Information or data that is arranged vertically
Columns Change your document to one, two, or three columns.
Cells Where a row and column cross.
Word Count Find out how many pages, words, and characters are used on your document
Image/Online Pictures Insert an image into your doc from your computer, the web, Drive, URL, or camera.
Word Art Creates customized words
Shapes the external form, contours, or outline of someone or something.
Drawing Insert a new Google Drawing or a Google Drawing from your Drive.
Charts Diagram that illustrates and compares data. Pie and column are examples.
Hyperlink Copy a website link and attach it to a text-friendly word or phrase
Headers Text at the very top of your document placed outside of the normal typing margins
Footers Text at the very bottom of your document placed outside of the normal typing margins
Page Numbers Insert a page number at the top or bottom of your page. You can also choose the position of the page number
Text Box allow you to easily move or set text apart in a document
Page Orientation the way in which a rectangular page is oriented for normal viewing
Special Characters/Symbols Insert characters that are not numbers or letters present on your keyboard
Margins (default size) Amount of space at the top, bottom, left, and right of your document.
Landscape Page orientation that prints out horizontally
Portrait Page orientation that prints out vertically.
Spelling/Grammar Check Correct spelling and grammar within your document
Undo Removes the action just done.
Redo Adds the last action that was deleted back into the document
Zoom Makes the document appear larger
Format Painter used to copy and paste character and paragraph formats to existing text.
Clear Formatting Removes all text formatting.
