| Reasoning by analogy | Applying solutions from somewhere else to the problem you are working on. |
| Pre-mortem | The process of evaluating an idea, a decision, or a plan before it is implemented to test how strong it is. |
| Biomimicry | The practice of looking at how things work in nature for the answers to human innovation needs. |
| Ideate | The creative process of generating, developing, and communicating new ideas. |
| Evaluate | To judge or calculate the quality, importance, amount, or value of something. |
| Re-framing | To change the way – or the frame – through which we look at a problem. |
| Reflect | When we think about what we did well and what we can improve. |
| Prototype | A first and usually functional form of a new idea, design or construction. |
| Cognitive biases | Mental shortcuts which we have developed over thousands of years to help us interpret information and make quick decisions. |
| Now, Wow, How, Pow matrix | Used to help rank ideas by evaluating the impact of the solution and the difficulty of implementation. |
