TermDefinition
coordinating conjunction is a word that joins two simple sentences together to make a compound sentence FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so)
subordinating conjunction is a word that joins a dependent clause to an independent clause AWUBIS (although, when, until, because, if, since)
simple sentence is a group of words that tells a complete thought
compound sentence has two simple sentences joined together by a conjunction.
prefix is a word part added to the beginning of a base word
suffix is a word part added to the end of a base word
