What is the sun? The star is the center of our solar system
What is Carbon Dioxide? The chemical that plants need to breath in order to survive
What is phytoplankton? Algae found in the ocean and in lakes
What is soil or dirt? Living things and minerals
What is pollination? When pollen is transferred from one flower to another flower
What is the fruit of a plant? the part of the flower that has the seed in it
What is the petal of a plant? The part of the plant that attracts pollinators.
What does the stamen hold? pollen
What is the pistil of the plant? The part of the plant that contains the egg.
what is pollen? Pollen is the part of the plant that allows the egg to become a fruit.
What are bees? Winged insects that pollinate plants or flowers
What do humans depend on plants for ? Oxygen and energy.
What do plant depend on humans for? Carbon Dioxide
What is the seed of the plant? A baby plant that contains the material to create a new plant.
What are the flowers of the plant? Flowers hold the seeds of the plant and are a visual to attract pollinators
What is a seed coat? Protective coating that is around the seed
What is the embryo? The young plant inside a seed
What are roots? Help the plant stay in the ground and help it take in water and minerals.
What are root hairs? They are hair like structures that grow off roots that provide the plant with water and minerals.
What are minerals? elements in the first that provide plants and humans with important nutrition.
What is water? Water is a colorless, odorless liquid that living things survive
What is photosynthesis? The process in which plants use water, carbon dioxide, chlorophyll and sunlight to make their own food.
What us the food source cotyledon? It is the leaf that helps feed growing plants until photosynthesis begins.
