When using a tool to measure properties of matter, you are comparing something to a standard unit. Senses observe size, color, texture, but they don’t require a tool to measure.

b. If an object is magnetic, how will that object act around a magnet? The object will be attracted to the manget and stick to it.

How was the hardness of the wood block and steel block tested on page 11 in your book? The hardness of the wood block and steel block were tested by using a hammer and nail. The soft object will allow the nail to go into it, while the hard object will bend the nail.
