| Pharmacodynamics | study of the mechanisms by which the drugs produce physiologic changes in the body; the study of how the drugs work |
| Toxicity | how adverse drug reactions affect the body |
| Drug Sources | -plants, minerals, bacteria, molds, animals, laboratories. |
| Plant Compounds | -Alkaloids (end in -ine; atropine, caffeine, nicotine) -Glycosides (end in -in; digoxin, digitoxin) -gums -resins -oils |
