TermDefinition
Friction a force that resists motion of two surfaces rubbing against each other
Force a push or pull that causes and object to move, stop, or change direction
Gravity the force that pulls objects toward each other
Movement a change in position or location

Investigation the way to find out the answer to a question
Variable anything that can be changed in an experiment
Reliability getting the same results on repeated trials on an investigation
Hypothesis an educated guess
Conclusion explains the pattern that you see in the data
Claim statement or conclusion that answers the original question or problem.
Evidence scientific data that support the claim.
Analysis to break down the explanation into its meaningful parts
Reasoning a justification that connects the evidence to the claim.
Control a factor that is kept the same for every test
Independent Variable the one object or thing that is changed or controlled
Dependent Variable the variable being tested and measured
