Chapter 12- Waves

Work = force * distance
Pendulum Mass attached to an arm at a pivot point that swings under the influence of gravity.
Damping The effect of friction on periodic motion, which makes the amplitude get smaller.
Crest top of a wave.
wavelength measuring crest to crest, trough to though.
Diffraction when a wave moves past a corner and appears to fold or flow around every corner.
Destructive Interference amplitudes subtracted from each other.
Constructive Interference add the amplitudes together( the waves are in phase, crest matches crest, and trough matches trough )
Reflection occurs when a wave bounces off a surface that doesn't completely absorb it.
Longitudinal waves vibrations are parallel to the direction of wave movement.
