Plot Elements #2

TermDefinition
Atmosphere The emotional response a story creates for the reader
Characters People, animals, or creatures in a story
Dialogue Spoken words or conversation. Tells about characters' thoughts, opinions, and points of view.
Flashback A scene that goes back to events that have already happened in a story
Foreshadowing Hints or clues about future events in a story
Setting the time and place of a story
Suspense the excitement or tension of not knowing what will happen next
Tone the author's attitude toward the text. Authors set the tone by their word choices.
