AP Phyc Unit 2 Terms

TermDefinition
Neurotransmitters chemical messengers that your body can't function without.
Central nervous system Brain and spinal cord; controls awareness, movements, thinking, speech and 5 senses
Peripheral nervous system sends information from different areas of your body back to the brain and carries out commands from your brain to different parts of your body
Somatic nervous system the voluntary control of the body movements and allows you to move and control your body
autonomic nervous system regulates involuntary normal body functions including heart rate , blood pressure, reparation, and digestion
