TermDefinition
Beaker a lipped cylindrical glass container for laboratory use.
Erlenmeyer flask a flask having a wide base narrow neck, in conical form convenient in a lab for swirling liquids.
Test tube a cylindrical tube of clear glass usually open at one end and rounded at the other.
Graduated cylinder a tall narrow container with a volume scale used especially for measuring liquids.
Watch glass a circular concave piece of glass made in many sizes. Can be used as a lid on a beaker to prevent splattering.
Mortar & Pestle for grinding solids into a powder.
Funnel used to transfer liquids from larger containers to smaller containers.
Pipette made to transfer liquids in small precise amounts.
Beaker tongs for moving and holding a hot beaker.
Spatula for moving solid chemicals from larger containers to smaller containers usually used in a lab. Can be used for mixing and scraping.
Digital scale measures mass (usually in grams)
Bunsen Burner gas powered flame for heating chemicals.
Hot plate electric powered plate to heat chemicals.
Accuracy the state of being correct or precise.
Precision the fact of being exact or accurate.
Meniscus the curved upper surface of the liquid in a tube.
