QuestionAnswer
Name the 7 continents. (You will have to locate them on a map.) Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia, Europe, North America, South America
Name the 5 oceans. (You will have to locate them on a map.) Arctic Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Southern Ocean.
What is the Equator? The zero degree line of latitude around the Earth that separates the Northern Hemisphere from the Southern Hemisphere.
What are continents? A large area of land that is primarily bordered by a body of water.
What is the Prime Meridian? The imaginary line that circles the Earth from the North Pole to the South Pole separating the Earth into the Western Hemisphere and Eastern Hemisphere.
What is a Hemisphere? Half of a sphere
What is a Compass Rose? It shows the direction the map is pointing
What are Time Zones? There are 24 times zones around the Earth: one zone for each hour of the day.
What is a Legend? The key to identifying symbols on a map.
What is a Map Scale? It shows the distance on a map to the distance in the real world.
